2018 saw 15 Single Family Homes sell over $1,000,000 in comparison to 2017 that saw 13 sales over $1,000,000. This almost quadruples the 2016 total of 4 single family homes sold over that mark!
Late last year, I was given the welcome task of helping my buyer clients in their search for a historic and distinct home on the . A historic home that was either renovated OR had potential to be renovated, BUT also needed to be close to: 1. a bustling town center 2. the commuter rail 3. some “slice of nature”. The combination of classic New England colonial charm with a modern flair has been a staple of our local market for decades, and is a criteria that many local buyers have on their wish list. Finding that in a location that fits their commuting, social needs and outdoor wish list wouldn’t be easy, but: challenge accepted!
This week I was asked by a home seller on the “West Side” of Reading what the difference was between selling your home in the Fall vs the Spring. I have written about this topic before - early this year in fact - particularly as it relates to the towns of Reading and North Reading....
What’s the best time of the year to sell a home? As listing agents, It’s a question that we get asked when people are preparing to sell a home, but have some flexibility in their timeframe to do so. There are a few factors to consider, here are the biggest two:
Summer Avenue in Reading, MA has been touted as one of the most desirable streets North of Boston to live on. Boston Magazine featured it in an article a few years ago in 2007 called: If You Lived Here...You'd Never Want to Leave.
It's not often that a large contemporary home pops up on the market on the North Shore of Massachusetts, where Colonials, Capes & Victorians are most prevalent, especially one that sits on over 8 Acres of land! Being a "loft-lover", I am so very happy to see a home like this hit the market!
What this information will show is that Reading single family homes averaged OVER $300 per square foot - which is the first time this threshold has been broken here in any given year!
Julia Szabo, columnist for the New York Post and author of Animal House Style: Designing a Home to Share With Your Pets, wrote that for safety purposes pet owners should spend decorating dollars on framed prints, photos and paintings. "Art hangs on the walls, out of reach of your pets."
If so, then local artist Michelle Dunn Taylor of North Reading has the decorating answer for you
There is no better way to welcome and enjoy the hectic time of year than to see the glow of outdoor Christmas lights each night. Brian Higgins, Owner of “Light it Up Electric” stated that prior to setting up a outdoor display, certain safety measures should be followed.
